Drive Through Christmas
Here is a thought provoking article by theologian Stanley Grenz about how we have lost the sense of longing built into traditional celebrations of Christmas.
I'm not sure what exactly we could do about it. Maybe you would like to contribute your thoughts.
One thought is that rather than tune out from the difficulties, tragedies and brokenness of this world we might take deliberate steps to make ourselves aware of them. By reflecting on them we remind ourselves of the reasons we (and the whole world) needs Jesus. Then we can rejoice more meaningfully on Christmas Day.
