Another way to use the psalms
On Sunday we looked at Psalm 103 which is one of the many 'Praise' Psalms.
Most of us, most of the time read silently in our heads. However, it is a different experience when reading out loud. One thing you might like to try is to go outside - maybe into a park or some other place where you are some distance from other people and read out loud Psalms 145-150 with meaning and emotion. Praise expressed verbally is different to praise thought internally. I have done it several times and found it a rich experience. Being outside means we are more aware of creation around us, but if that is not possible, you can always have a go at home at the other end of the house or while others are out.
